The Anatomy of Lactation. The udder of the goat consists of two separate mammary glands. Each half has one teat. The medial suspensory ligament is made up of two sheets of elastic yellow tissue. Each strong sheet covers the flat surface of the inside of each half of the udder.

This presented study is designed to provide an in-detailed anatomic reference to the pelvic cavity of the female baladi goat through the topographical anatomy, cryo-sectional anatomy, computed tomographic examination (CT) and ultrasonographic evaluation.

2017年3月24日 · An udder is an organ formed of mammary glands in female quadruped mammals, especially ruminants like cows and goats. It contains the mammary glands which produce and store milk. The udder provides milk for feeding offspring through the teats located on the underside of the organ.

A functional udder needs both glandular tissue and a path for milk flow. Milk produced in the glands should flow into the collecting ducts and then into the gland cistern. The milk is held in the gland cistern until “let down” occurs with manipulation of the teats, calf bellowing and/or oxytocin.
