You might also wish to mix 4-oz peanut butter, two-oz vanilla extract and one-oz anise oil together and use as a boot toe dressing when you walk into your stand. By far the best curiosity scent I have ever seen.

2009年7月16日 · The easiest way and cheapest way to keep bears in the area is to take a 16oz plastic coke bottle and drill a hole in the top. Pull a piece of rope through the hole to create a wick. Fill it with imitation vanilla extract. I buy a quart bottle at Sams Club for $4-5. I throw it as high as possible in a tree and hang it so that the rope hangs down.

2017年11月19日 · I use vanilla extract to bring them in. I buy the large bottles at BJ's whole sale. I drill a whole in the lid and pull a rope through creating a wick. Hang it as high as possible in a tree and let it drip. They usually last about a week. I also put used restaurant grease around the baits. I have had excellent results. Good luck.

I took 9 bears on my baits this past spring, and I truly think Baitem907 scents helped make the difference on some of the later bears. 2024年11月16日 · I saw a test with dogs that showed scent elimination doesn't work. I think field and stream did it. Scent masking will buy you a few minutes though. I used some vanilla extract and apple cider mixed in an empty scent killer bottle while hunting in Michigan. I can't say for sure if it worked or not, but I smelled yummy.

2023年6月13日 · They're right about the sweet tooth. Marshmallows work really well for me, but so does canned tuna and anything that smells fishy. I like a few drops of Anise Oil. It smells like black liquorish and brings them in from a distance. You might consider a different type of trap. Animals can learn sets and become "trap shy".

I've never caught a kitty cat in a dog-proof, but if you want to set a trap then just bait it with something cats aren't attracted to. Marshmallows and anise oil? Or just set a large live trap.

If you're like most of us, you shoot way more arrows into targets than animals. Full Metal Jackets are about as good an arrow as there is, and they come out of targets MUCH easier than all carbon without having to mess with lubes that really don't work all that well, or very long, anyway.
